DOING IT THE JESUS WAY

Jesus was a discipler and had a way of doing it that yielded amazing results. ICA will do well to learn from Him. Discipling Jesus’ way guarantees success. Let us do it!!

Day 1 (5th January 2026) - Intentional Calling

Guiding Principle: Jesus deliberately called individuals, not crowds, into a life-changing journey with Him.

Scriptures

Matthew 4:18–22

18 As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. 19 “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” 20 At once they left their nets and followed him. 21 Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James son of Zebedee and his brother John. They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, preparing their nets. Jesus called them, 22 and immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him.

Mark 3:13–14

13 Jesus went up on a mountainside and called to him those he wanted, and they came to him. 14 He appointed twelve that they might be with him and that he might send them out to preach.

John 15:16

16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.

Prayer

1. Thank God for the opportunity we have this year to intentionally lead people into life-changing journeys and that God could entrust us with that responsibility.

2. Jesus knew who He was looking for. Pray that we will all be clear on the kind of people God is calling us to disciple this year. Pray that the Spirit of discernment will be on us so we will be accurate in our choices of those to disciple.

3. Jesus called His disciples from all walks of life. Pray that we will be willing to welcome and work with everyone that God brings our way and we will not be limited in our choices because of our prejudice.

4. Jesus identified those who were ready to be with Him so He could send them out. Pray that we will be able to identify and intentionally attract those that are willing to be under us and to learn from us.

5. Jesus was prepared to train them. Pray that we will intentionally position ourselves as trainers, using every opportunity to equip ourselves so we may rightly equip those that God will bring under our care.

6. Jesus appointed those who could bear lasting fruit. Pray that we will have clear goals on how far we would want to take our disciples. Pray that we will aim for producing lasting fruit.

Declaration:

• Lord, we declare that we understand the importance and we are committed to take people into life changing journeys this year.

• We declare that we shall be intentional in every decision we make regarding the production of fruits that last.
