Thanksgiving and reflection on the Sunday message
Thanksgiving
Jeremiah 31:3 (ESV) - the Lord appeared to him from far away. I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you.
- Thank God for His eternal love that never fails us. He is more than able to restore our dreams/visions that have stagnated or have been lost.
John 14:16-17 (ESV) - 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper to be with you forever, 17 even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.
- Thank God for the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, who is our comforter and helper, even in the implementation of our dreams.
Reflection on Sunday message
Message title: City Restoration
Scripture: Nehemiah 11:1-3; 25-26
- The foundation of restoration begins when one returns to the right place.
- Pray for humble hearts among Christians to always return to God for the restoration of their lost or stagnated dreams, who is the originator of their dreams.
- Take responsibility of your dreams and step-out.
- Pray for boldness among Christians to lead, inspire hope and passion in others.
- Pray against the spirit of blaming others for one’s failure to pursue their God given dreams.
- Sacrificial commitment towards the implementation of our God given dreams.
- Pray that as Christians, we will labour for breakthrough of our dreams. Genesis 3:19 (ESV) – by the sweat of your face you shall eat bread.
- Pray that as citizens in Lilongwe city and other cities, we will be good citizens by contributing to make our cities beautiful.
- Consistent presence
- Pray for persistent spirit among God’s children to actively participate in implementation of their dreams.
- Pray against the spirit of laziness or remote control which can lead to slow achievement of dreams.
- Bigger dreams demand better unity (Nehemiah 11:3-24)
- Pray that there will be unity among Christ-followers to implement bigger dreams in God’s kingdom.
- Pray against pull-down syndrome among Christians as we implement our dreams.
