Praying for Malawi and People Groups of Ghana
Praying for Malawi - Genesis 2:18; Proverbs 14:31; James 5:4; Isaiah 1:17
Genesis 2:18 “Then the LORD God said, ‘It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.’”
Proverbs 14:31 “Whoever oppresses a poor man insults his Maker, but he who is generous to the needy honours him.”
James 5:4 “Behold, the wages of the labourers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, are crying out against you, and the cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord of hosts.”
Isaiah 1:17 “Learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow’s cause.”
Recent reports highlight painful incidents of mob killings in Nsanje and Chikwawa linked to false accusations and rumours, while the country continues to face economic pressure, including fuel, forex, inflation and livelihood challenges.
1. Thank God for Malawi, for His mercy, preservation of life, and the peace He continues to give despite many pressures.
2. Pray for comfort, healing and justice for families affected by the killings in Nsanje and Chikwawa, and pray that false accusations, mob justice, fear, superstition and lawlessness will stop.
3. Pray for this harvest season, that God will protect farmers, households and produce from theft, exploitation and post-harvest losses. Pray that buyers, traders and institutions will act with fairness, and that farming families will benefit from the labour of their hands.
4. Pray for Malawians struggling with depression, anxiety, loneliness, broken relationships, antisocial behaviour, suicide pressures, marriage stress, work pressure and isolation. Pray especially for young people overwhelmed by unhealthy digital habits and for adult men who feel disconnected and unsupported; ask God to raise healthy families, friendships, churches and fellowships that restore community and hope.
5. Pray for Malawi’s economy and national leadership in the executive, judiciary and legislature. Pray for solutions to fuel and forex shortages, and practical interventions that reduce both rural and urban poverty by creating better and sustainable livelihood strategies, jobs, food security, fair markets, and access to essential services. Ask God to expose and remove corruption, greed and wickedness.
Praying for People groups of Ghana
And he said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the labourers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into his harvest. Luke 10:2

1. Pray that the Lord will strengthen His Church among the people groups of Ghana, so that believers will remain rooted in Christ, grow in spiritual maturity, and live fruitful lives.
2. Pray for true revival, sound discipleship, and transformed lives among these communities. Ask God to raise faithful local believers and leaders who will walk in holiness, teach God’s Word, and help the Church remain strong across generations.
3. Pray that Christianity among groups with many professing believers will become genuine and life-transforming, not merely cultural or nominal. Ask that many homes and families will fully surrender to Christ.
4. Pray for the gospel to spread among communities still strongly influenced by Islam and ethnic religions, especially the Safaliba, Sisaala, and Songhai-Koyraboro. Ask the Lord to open hearts, remove spiritual barriers, raise labourers, and establish strong churches among them.
